The loss of youthful contours in the face can be due to the thinning of the skin, loss of facial fat, gravity, sun damage, smoking, heredity, and even stress. Face lift surgery (or Rhytidectomy) is a great way to restore the elasticity of the face, and give a fresh tightened appearance.
A facelift is a surgical procedure designed to resuspend the underlying facial structures creating more youthful contours and fullness. Specifically addressed are the jawline, nasolabial folds and the cheek hollowing. A necklift helps address cervical bands and excess skin (turkey neck) while improving the profile and defining the mandibular contour. Often these procedures are combined to help recreate elegant facial harmony. There are a variety of techniques Dr. Malotky employs to achieve his natural and lasting results as no one technique is suitable to address every patient. Some of these techniques include “short scar,” “SMASectomy,” “SMAS Plication,” “Platysmal Window,” and “Corset Platysmaplasty” to name a few.
Body Contouring is a great way to tighten things up after a major weight loss. It is designed to remove excess sagging skin and fat while improving the shape of the underlying support tissue. Dramatic weight loss has many benefits, however the skin and tissues often lack the elasticity to conform to the reduced body size. The result of body contouring is better proportions and smoother contours. The abdomen, breasts, face, arms, and thighs are frequently treated and often two or more areas can safely be combined in one surgery reducing overall recovery time and cost.
Liposuction, sometimes referred to as “Lipo” is a way to slim and reshape specific areas of the body. One treatment may be all you need to reshape stubborn problem areas. Liposuction is usually used on the thighs, hips, buttocks, abdomen, waist, upper arms, back, and the face. Although liposuction does a great job at targeting problem areas, it is not a treatment for obesity, or a substitute for proper diet and exercise. Liposuction can be performed under general anesthesia, and for some smaller cases local anesthesia.
